Who we are
Bajanese runs the Bajanese Restaurant in Lower Collymore Rock, St. Michael and the Bajanese Grill in St. George, Barbados. This page explains what happens to your information when you use bajanese.com.
What this website keeps on your device
Your order in progress, your favourites, your last 10 orders and your light or dark display choice are saved in your browser's local storage so they're there when you come back. They stay on your device; what we receive when you place an order is described below. You can remove them at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser.
Placing an order
When you place an order, your order, your name, your pickup or delivery choice and time, any delivery address, and any notes you add are sent to our ordering system so our kitchen can prepare it. We keep these order records for as long as we need them to run the restaurant, handle questions about an order, keep our accounts and meet our legal obligations. We don't sell them or use them for marketing.
The same details are then placed in a WhatsApp message to us, with your order number. WhatsApp's own privacy policy applies to that message. If our ordering system can't be reached, your order goes through WhatsApp only.
Your Bajanese account (Fairytale ID)
Signing in is optional. Accounts are provided by Fairytale ID (users.fairytale.ai), the sign-in service Bajanese shares with other Fairytale apps. Fairytale ID keeps your email address, your password (stored securely, never readable by us) or your Google sign-in, and your name if you give it. When you're signed in, we link your orders to your account so you can see your order history. Signing in with Google means Google's privacy policy also applies to that sign-in.
Your browser keeps a sign-in session for this website in its local storage until you sign out.
Forms
Our waitlist, catering and job application forms are run on Google Forms. We use what you submit only for the reason you sent it: letting you know when the app launches, quoting for your event, or considering your application. Google's privacy policy applies to those forms.
Services this website uses
- GitHub Pages hosts the website.
- Google Fonts provides the typefaces.
- Google Cloud runs our ordering system (api.bajanese.com) and Fairytale ID.
- jsDelivr delivers the sign-in software our pages use.
Like any website, these services receive your IP address and basic browser details when pages load.
No tracking or ads
We don't use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies on this website.
Your choices
To ask what information you've sent us, including your order history, or to have it or your account deleted, contact us on Instagram or by email.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
